The Outdoor television world is so fun sometimes! Now you must understand, whether you grasp it or not, these are the guys that I watched on TV when I wasn’t wrestling. Yes, I watched other shows, more traditional shows, but every fall and winter when I knew I was going to get very few days out in the woods, due to my schedule, these guys carried me through hunting season. Mike Waddell and the Bone Collectors, Jackie Bushman, Keith Warren and numerous other outdoor greats, graced my television on many a day and night. Fast forward many years later, and here I am being included on the first ever Squirrel Master Classic with all the aforementioned legends as well as the equally accomplished Jon and Gina Brunson! Not a bad way to spend a weekend.
The MRA crew did pretty well coming in 3rd place, but more importantly, I got to spend some time getting to know these people I’ve watched for so long. In the outdoor world, we all keep busy doing our separate shows and rarely see each other. A few times a year, we all gather at various outdoor conventions and get to spend some time together but are usually kept pretty busy as well. Needless to say, the Squirrel Master Classic was a very enjoyable experience for this Outdoor television fan. They’re all great people, and it was a real pleasure for me to get to know them just a little bit better. Again, having a love of the outdoors and hunting has given me the opportunity to meet some of the most pleasant, salt-of-the-earth people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Just as my wrestling career allowed me to do the same, both at work and at appearances, I’ve met some great people in a world not everybody totally understands.
